Vietnamese Morning Breakfast-Duck Blood Soup

Vietnamese Duck blood soup looks scary but very delicious.
It is not cooked at all! They just slit the ducks or goose throat, gather all the blood in a boll, add ginger, some vegetables and sprinkle peanuts on top and there you have it, that’s your soup. It only takes about 15 minutes to prepare and it’s regarded as a source of strength by those who eat it.
Some restaurants in Germany have started serving this and it is very popular.
The soup in Germany is called "Tiet Cahn"

Diana, Princess of Wales, formerly Lady Diana Frances Spencer, was born on 1 July 1961 at Park House near Sandringham, Norfolk. She was the youngest daughter of the then Viscount and Viscountess Althorp, now the late (8th) Earl Spencer and the Hon. Lady Diana was educated first at a preparatory school, Riddlesworth Hall at Diss, Norfolk, and then in 1974 went as a boarder to West Heath, near Sevenoaks, Kent. At school she showed a particular talent for music (as an accomplished pianist), dancing and domestic science, and gained the school's award for the girl giving maximum help to the school and her schoolfellows. She left West Heath in 1977 and went to finishing school at the Institut Alpin Videmanette in Rougemont, Switzerland, which she left after the Easter term of 1978. The following year she moved to a flat in Coleherne Court, London. For a while she looked after the child of an American couple, and she worked as a kindergarten teacher at the Young England School in Pimlico.

Her romance with the Prince of Wales began in 1980 and they got married July 29, 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral. The wedding was broadcast in 74 countries and watched by 750 million people worldwide. Diana was the first English woman to marry an heir to the throne in over 300 years. But Diana soon discovered that Prince Charles was still in love with an old girlfriend, Camilla Parker-Bowles. Distraught, Diana developed bulimia and attempted suicide. Despite her problems, she was a devoted mother to her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. She worked tirelessly for charity, and was beloved by the public for her warmth and humanity.

In 1992 Princess Diana decided to expose the truth about her relationship with Prince Charles to the public. The separation of the Prince and Princess of Wales was announced on December 9, 1992. The divorce became official August 28, 1996. Princess Diana kept the title Princess of Wales and continued to work for her favorite charities. She and Prince Charles had joint custody of their sons.

On 31 August 1997, Diana died after a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris along with Dodi Al-Fayed and the acting security manager of the Hotel Ritz Paris, Henri Paul, who was instructed to drive the hired Mercedes-Benz through Paris secretly eluding the paparazzi. Their black 1994 Mercedes-Benz S280 crashed into the thirteenth pillar of the tunnel. The two-lane tunnel was built without metal barriers in front of the pillars.

Metal wires grow on woman's body

It's a currently big news in Indonesia. Metal wires about 10-20 cm long grow from a woman's body! Skeptics initially thought that is must be "self-inflicted". Doctors however, have other theories but have given up on providing any scientific or medical explanations.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The woman had this problem for 17 years and currently being investigated by the Ministry of Health. Initial consultation with doctors and specialists found that the wires are also inside her body. At this stage, there were no current medical explanations or any case ever exist. Hence, there is but only one other possible consideration, Occult magic.

Her name is NOORSYAIDAH. A 40 years old kindergarten teacher from Sangatta, East Kutai. Her first symptoms started manifestating in 1991. The metal wires grew out of her chest and her belly. There was no explanation then (or even now). During the first week wires kept falling off from her body and were gone. A month later, the wires grew back again and from that time onward the wires did not fall. They kept growing!

Biggest breaches of sportsmanship at an Olympics

A Cuban tae kwon do athlete committed one of the biggest breaches of sportsmanship at an Olympics, kicking a referee in the face in anger after he was disqualified from his match Saturday.

Chakir Chelbat learned that the hard way Saturday. The Swedish ref was kicked in the face by Cuba's Angel Matos, one of the competitors in a bronze-medal match.
Matos was mad because he had been disqualified, so he kicked up a storm.
Naturally, the World Taekwondo Federation wasn't pleased and recommended Matos be banned for life.
"We didn't expect anything like what you have witnessed to occur," said WTF secretary general Yang Jin-suk. "I am at a loss for words."
Yang also recommended Matos' coach be banned.

Matos was winning, 3-2, with 1:02 left in the second round, when he fell to the mat after being hit by his opponent, Kazakhstan's Arman Chilmanov. Matos was sitting there, awaiting medical attention, when he was disqualified for taking too much injury time. Fighters get one minute.
Matos angrily questioned the call, pushed a judge, then pushed and kicked Chelbat, who required stitches in his lip. Matos spat on the floor and was escorted out.

Women Wrestling in Bolivia

A new craze is sweeping Bolivia where Cholitas are entering the wrestling ring to fight for their identity and pride. I hope that this unusual sport will be included in the next Olympic.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Although legend has it that some indigenous women of the Aymara people, called Cholitas, have been wrestling for up to 20 years, the trend has only recently reached a critical mass.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

These indigenous, Indian women jump into the ring every Sunday in their traditional, vibrant multilayered skirts and perform the acrobatic maneuvers of Lucha Libre (a blend of Mexican and American professional wrestling).

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Every Sunday, hundreds of men, women and children pack the Multifunctional Auditorium in El Alto, Bolivia, a sprawling lower income extension of La Paz. They come to watch fights between good and evil where good is usually triumphant. Families attend regularly every week and for an entry fee of $1 per person, escape for an afternoon of live entertainment and “justice served in the ring.”

LIn Miaoke is the hottest child star in China

LIN MIAOKE, 9, the Chinese girl in the red dress who captured the world's hearts when she sang solo during the Olympic opening ceremony, is the hottest child star on the planet.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

A 9-year-old girl who mimed a song during the Olympic opening ceremony because the real singer was not considered pretty enough has been offered a relatively big sum to appear in a movie, local media said.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Lin Miaoke, who lip synched the song "Sing for the Motherland" on the Aug 8 ceremony, will make 600,000 yuan (US$87,592) for a three-minute role in a Chinese movie called "Nu Li", meaning "striving," according to Shichang Daobao, a newspaper in east China's Zhejiang province.
She will play a flower girl in the film, according to the newspaper's website.
Lin's face has appeared not only all over Chinese media, but in overseas media, including on the front page of the New York Times.
Overseas media widely reported her not actually singing the song after a director for the program made the surprising revelation to a Chinese publication following the opening ceremony.

No credit was given to the actual singer Yang Peiyi, 7, even though her voice touched the audience that night. Her singing was recorded in advance.
The director said a member of China's Politburo - top Communist Party governing body - gave the order to put Lin on stage instead of Yang, to create a better effect on the audience.

"A Dream of Red Mansions"

Lin Miaoke, the girl who sang China's national anthem "Hymn to the Motherland" at the Olympic opening ceremony on August 8, 2008, plays the role of young Lin Daiyu in Li Shaohong's new adaptation of "Dream of the Red Chamber" (Hong Lou Meng).

Lin Miaoke, the girl who performed at the opening ceremony of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, plays a role in the new version of TV play "A Dream of Red Mansions" in Yangzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province, April 3, 2009. This is the first time for her to act in the play.

As one of the four master works of Chinese literature, "Dream of the Red Chamber" first appeared on television in 1987. Although two decades have passed, audiences still remember what they consider to be the perfect adaptation of the novel.

So far, some are casting doubts on the remake, which has given rise to much controversy after its casting, makeup and costume design were unveiled last year. Others have shown great interest in Li's new version and anticipate much from it.

The TV series started shooting late last May and is expected to wrap up this summer. The production team is now shooting the outdoor scenes in eastern China's gardens, lakes and water towns. The series will probably debut during next year's Spring Festival holiday.

The novel provides a detailed, episodic record of the two branches of the Jia family, the Rongguo and Ningguo houses, who reside in two large adjacent family compounds in the capital. It charts the family's wealth and influence as well as its downfall. The Jia family eventually falls into disfavor with the emperor, and its mansions are raided and confiscated.

A love triangle is at the core of the story. The main character, Jia Baoyu, is the adolescent heir of the family, a reincarnation of the divine attendant-in-waiting. Crimson Pearl Flower is reincarnated as Baoyu's sickly cousin, the emotional Lin Daiyu, who is in love with Baoyu. But Baoyu is predestined in this life to marry another cousin, Xue Baochai.

Michael Phelps takes six gold medals

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Michael Phelps made it six gold medals in six races, each in world record time, by taking the 200-metre individual medley Friday at the Beijing Olympics.
If he wins either of his last two races, he'll join Spitz as the only Olympians to win seven golds at one Summer Games and cash a US$1-million bonus from his sponsor.

Should he win both, Phelps will stand alone as the greatest Olympic champ for both a single Games and for his career. This was his 12th gold overall, pulling him farther from Spitz and three others with nine. At only 23, he could end up doubling the longstanding career mark at London in 2012. Who would bet against him after this week?

Phelps dominated right from the start of the 200-metre individual medley and won in one minute 54.23 seconds. He knocked off his own mark of 1:54.80 set at last month's U.S. trials, his sixth world record of the Games.

Phelps returned right after the medal ceremony for the 100 butterfly semifinal, where he qualified second-fastest and set himself to tie Spitz's total in the final on Saturday. He could break the record if the heavily favoured U.S. wins the 4x100-metre medley relay on Sunday.
"There wasn't much time," Phelps said, "but I think there's going to be a lot of time for me to rest over the next 18 hours or so, and I'll be able to be ready for tomorrow morning's 100."

Michael Phelps takes seven gold medals

Michael Phelps stunned even himself with a desperate last lunge to grasp a record-equalling seventh Olympic gold medal in Beijing, ahead of Saturday's showpiece, the athletics' men's 100 metres final.
Phelps, his quest for Olympic immortality seeming derailed when seventh at the turn, stormed home in the 100m butterfly to claim a finger-tip victory and draw level with fellow US pool legend Mark Spitz's record of seven golds at one Games set 36 years ago.

Who is Phelps'girl?

American swimmer Michael Phelps , who has won seven golds in Beijing , became the most decorated athlete in Olympic history and received lots of love from female fans. But who is Phelps'girl?

Media reporters so far have pinpointed two girls as swimming prodigy Phelps' girlfriend. The first is Phelps' hot teammate Amanda Beard and the second is charming British model Lily Donaldson.
Together with Phelps, swimmer Amanda Beard also represented U.S. participating in the Olympic Games held in Beijing, though so far this hot swimmer pocketed no gold.

21-year-old Lily Donaldson is even hotter and ranked as one of the top 8 models in the fashion world. Lily Donaldson even replaced British supermodel Kate Moss as the "younger face" speaking for Burberry in 2007.

Phelps Creates a World Record

Michael Phelps after winning his eighth gold medal in Beijing.

What Phelps needed to win medals.

Consuming a staggering 12,000 calories a day is the secret behind swimming sensation Michael Phelps' phenomenal success at the Beijing Olympics.
This is a huge calorie intake because the average man of the same age needs to ingest about 2,000 calories a day.
The U.S. swimmer attributed his title of the greatest Olympian of all time to his appetite when the media asked him what he needed to win medals.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

"Eat, sleep and swim. That's all I can do. Get some calories into my system and try to recover the best I can," the New York Post quoted him as having told NBC.
The newspaper has revealed that Phelps eats a breakfast of three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions, and mayonnaise.
He follows that up with two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelette, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes.

The report further states that Phelps' lunch comprises a pound of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayo on white bread, capping off the meal by chugging about 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.
Phelps' dinner includes carbohydrate-rich foods—such as a pound of pasta and an entire pizza—which give him plenty of energy for his five-hours-a-day, six-days-a-week regimen.
He washes all that down with another 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.
Phelps breaks Mark Spitz's record of seven gold medals won at the 1972 Munich Games.

UPDATE: 3 Dec 2008

Phelps reportedly brought his Las Vegas cocktail waitress girlfriend, Caroline Pal back to Baltimore to spend Thanksgiving with his family.

UPDATE: 10 JAN 2009

MICHAEL Phelps continued his victory lap by scoring another record sponsorship deal. According to the Daily News, Phelps picked up a $1 million deal from Mazda in China, which is "the largest single sponsorship for a Western celebrity in Chinese history."
"The people of China have been very supportive of me and my efforts to help promote swimming," Phelps said. "I am excited to begin 2009 with my first return trip to Beijing since the Games."
Phelps has been pulling in endorsement deals across the board since becoming the most decorate Olympian ever in Beijing and breaking Mark Spitz' record of seven gold medals with a haul of eight at the Games. According to the article, Phelps is now "worth as much as $50 million."

UPDATE: 2 FEB 2009
An apology from record-breaking Olympic champion Michael Phelps

The International Olympic Committee said an apology from record-breaking Olympic champion Michael Phelps, who was photographed inhaling from a pipe used for smoking marijuana, was proof enough of his sincerity.
Britain’s News of the World newspaper ran a picture of swimmer Phelps, who won a record eight gold medals at last year’s Beijing Olympics, with the glass pipe, saying it was taken at a student party at the University of South Carolina in Columbia last November.

The newspaper did not say Phelps was smoking marijuana but said the glass pipe the swimmer was photographed with was generally used to smoke the drug.
‘Michael Phelps is a great Olympic champion. He apologised for his inappropriate behaviour,’ IOC spokeswoman Emmanuelle Moreau said on Monday.
‘We have no reason to doubt his sincerity and his commitment to continue to act as a role model.’

Phelps, who has won more Olympic gold medals than anyone else after his eight in Beijing and has since signed several endorsement deals worth millions of dollars, apologised saying his behaviour was regrettable.
‘I engaged in behaviour which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgement,’ Phelps said in a statement, adding it would not happen again.
US officials said the news was disappointing but stressed that smoking marijuana out of competition was not an anti-doping matter at this point.

More Update:

Phelps banned for three months

USA Swimming have suspended Michael Phelps for three months following the publication of a picture apparently showing the multi-Olympic champion using illegal drugs.
The 23-year-old, who won eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics last year, issued a public apology after a British tabloid published a photo of him inhaling from the type of glass pipe used to smoke cannabis.
Although he stopped short of admitting to using cannabis, Phelps earlier this week issued a statement apologising for his “regrettable” behaviour and for having “demonstrated bad judgment”.
The USA swimming statement read: “USA Swimming has reprimanded Michael Phelps under its Code of Conduct by withdrawing financial support and the eligibility to compete for a period of three months effective today, February 5, 2009.

UPDATE: 3 AUG 2012

Phelps of US wins men’s 200m IM gold medal

LONDON - Michael Phelps became the first male swimmer to win the same event at three successive Olympics when he clinched the men’s 200 metres individual medley gold medal at the London Games on Thursday.

Phelps, who won the event at the Athens and Beijing Games, relegated compatriot and world champion Ryan Lochte to silver while Hungary’s Laszlo Cseh took bronze.

The victory gave Phelps his 16th Olympic gold medal and 20th overall in his career.

Only two swimmers had ever won the same individual event at three Olympics, Australia’s Dawn Fraser, in 100 freestyle in 1956, 1960 and 1964, and Hungary’s Krisztina Egerszegi in 200 backstroke in 1988, 1992 and 1996. It is a feat that had eluded generations of the best male swimmers until Phelps, who had the chance of doing it in four different events in London.

He came fourth in the 400 individual medley and looked to set to achieve the feat in his favoured 200 butterfly but was pipped by South Africa’s Chad le Clos on the final stroke.

Phelps still has the 100 butterfly to come on his programme, with the American the second fastest qualifier into the semi-finals, which will take place later on Thursday.

London 2012 Olympics: Michael Phelps retires after claiming 18th Olympic gold

Michael Phelps got up to leave his last press conference at the Olympic pool when his relay mates were asked if they thought he would really stay retired.

Before they could answer, Phelps smiled and said emphatically: “Yes, yes.”

The most decorated Olympian called it a career on Saturday night with a fitting ending — a gold medal in the 4x100m medley relay at the London Games.

Phelps’ totals in four Olympics: 22 medals, 18 golds, 51 races and 9,900m of swimming.

“I’ve been able to do everything that I wanted,” he said. “If you can say that about your career, there’s no need to move forward. Time for other things.”

Having hung up his suit, cap and goggles for the last time, the 27-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland, is looking forward to the rest of his life.

He wants to travel and see places beyond the pools and hotel rooms of the past 12 years. His intended destinations include Australia and Europe. He wants to go cage diving among great white sharks in South Africa with Chad le Clos, the last man to beat him in the Olympics.

“I’ve been able to see so many amazing places in the world, but I’ve really never gotten to experience them,” Phelps said.

“He needs time for himself first,” Phelps’ mother Debbie said.

Phelps still plans to be around the sport that made him rich and famous, saying: “I would like to try to take it to an even higher level than it is now.”

He certainly left it on a high note.

Phelps regained the lead in the medley relay with his trademark butterfly stroke, then handed it over to freestyle anchor Nathan Adrian.

Adrian brought it home in 3 minutes, 29.35 seconds. Japan took the silver in 3:31.26, while Australia got the bronze in 3:31.68.
