Man Kneels To Seek For Forgiveness

Malaysia Boleh
"As a man, I can give up my honour, dignity, and even the route for retreat. I'm kneeling down here, so that all the women of this country will recognise me and they will not accept me in the future. Only by doing this, my wife will have greater confidence in me!"

Kelvin Ng, 30, a car battery salesman and housing broker from Ampang, claimed that he had six extramarital relations in the past five years.
Ng, brought along a banner with him, kneeled down at the bustling SS2 junction under the hot sun Tuesday (24 Feb) to seek for forgiveness from his wife, and to repent of his violence against his wife.

Many passers were curious and some even stopped by to find out what was happening.

Some people thought he should not be forgiven for seeking for forgiveness only after he has done wrong. Meanwhile, some women were deeply touched by his act and some guys shared their wife taming methods with him, causing a sudden disturbance here.

Some enthusiastic passers immediately helped Ng to call and persuade wife, hoping that she could forgive Wu.
As the afternoon was very hot, the public advised Ng to dispel the idea 20 minutes later.

In a desperate attempt to win back his estranged wife, a man has continued to plead for her forgiveness in public.Salesman Kelvin Ng, 29, made his first public attempt a week ago in SS2 here. On Saturday, the distressed husband tried again, kneeling down in front of Amcorp Mall with banners and a poster saying “I Love You Lee Sook Chin”.

Please forgive me: Ng stationing himself in front of the mall in Petaling Jaya on Saturday. The writing on the card reads ‘I Love You Lee Sook Chin’.

Speaking to reporters as he knelt, Ng swore that if his wife returned to him, he would repent.
“I want her to be the most admired woman out there and I want her to think that this marriage was never a wrong choice.
“I am doing my best to rescue this marriage and the whole world will be my witness,” he said.
Ng said his wife had claimed that he had been caught cheating on her six times.
However, he said he only cheated on her thrice and vowed not to be “playful” anymore.

Two weeks ago, his wife left him, leaving behind their two children – a boy, aged three and a girl, aged one.
One of his friends, Alex Tang, 30, said they were also there to do all they could to help Ng, who had been depressed.
Ng, who had earlier pledged to kneel for a whole day or until he passed out, remained in his position outside the mall until 10pm.
However, it was in vain because his wife did not come back.
When contacted, his wife Crystal Lee, 24, asked to be left alone.
“I will forgive my husband anyway but I need time to think it over,”
she said.

Indian woman sells baby to pay hospital bill

A poverty-stricken single mother in India sold her newborn son to a childless couple for 6,000 rupees (120 dollars) so she could pay her medical bill, a media report said on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old woman, Rajitha, delivered the baby by Caesarean section last week in the town of Kothagudem in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, but could not afford the 2,000 rupee (40 dollar) hospital fee, the NDTV news channel reported.

A rickshaw driver friend gave her 6,000 rupees for the baby, which he planned to raise with his wife. The couple have no children.

Police interrogated the woman in the local hospital, 270 kilometres (170 miles) from the state capital Hyderabad, where she told them her husband had abandoned her and she had no means to support herself and a baby.

Police said they would take action against the hospital.

“Buying and selling a baby is an offence, so we will be booking cases,” Kothagudem revenue division officer P. Rajaram said.

Welfare officials want the baby to be reunited with his mother so she can breastfeed him. They said the mother and child would then be shifted to a state-run facility where Rajitha can decide if she wants to put the baby up for adoption.

The incident occurred in the parliamentary constituency of India’s minister of state for women and child development Renuka Chowdhury.

Nigerian Sextuplets Mum died of complications

Sextuplets delivered by Mrs. Amuda Ajoke Bello at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital

A woman who gave birth to a set of sextuplets over the weekend in Nigeria has died of complications.
Ajoke Bello, 32, gave birth to the six babies by Caesarean section operation on Thursday and was initially in a stable condition.
But she developed complications from excessive bleeding at hospital in Sagamu, Ogun State, south-west Nigeria.

The naturally conceived babies - three girls and three boys - were in a stable condition, said medical officials.

Two of the babies were transferred on Saturday to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Lagos, where their condition improved.

'Unfortunate incident'

Mrs Bello died at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Sunday.

Professor Femi Ajayi, the chairman of the board of the hospital, confirmed her death to the Nigerian Tribune newspaper: "It was an unfortunate incident.

"The doctors and nurses at the hospital put in their best to ensure that the woman lived.

"She was under close monitoring as the medical team did not leave any stone unturned to ensure that she was alive."

The BBC's Fidelis Mbah in Lagos says charity groups have been making donations for the upkeep of the babies.

The governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, had visited Mrs Bello in hospital on Saturday and promised the government would give all necessary assistance to her family.

According to the figures from the World Health Organization, published in 2007, Nigeria's maternal mortality rate is the second highest in the world, after India.

Over half a million women die in childbirth annually around the world, according to the WHO, and Nigeria alone accounts for 10% of these deaths.

Slumdog Millionaire child star beaten by father after returning home

Despite the big success of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, life has not changed much for Rubina Ali, Ayush Mahesh Khedekar and Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail (front row, left to right)

'Slumdog Millionaire' child star Azharuddin had a rather painful homecoming after attending the Oscars, for the boy was beaten up by his father just because he wanted to have some rest.

Mohammed Ismail slapped and kicked his 10-year-old son in front of shocked neighbours and passers-by soon after he flew back to India from Los Angeles, where he and his other young co-stars watched as their movie picked up eight Oscars.

Azharuddin, who plays young hero Jamal, got tears in the eyes and ran back inside his home, cowering and begging his father to stop while trying to hide in a corner.

The young star had been given the day off school after his long flight and wanted to take rest, but his father wanted to show him off outside their home.

And when the boy didn't agree, the 45-year-old father, who is hoping his son could be his ticket to get out of Mumbai's Dharavi slum, launched his attack while his mother pleaded Ismail to stop.

"Azharuddin's father was upset that he was asking to be left alone because he was so tired. He didn't attend school today so that he could recover from his long flight from LA and simply wanted all the attention to stop. However, when Azharuddin put his foot down and said that was it and there was to be no more talking, Ismail just flipped," a stunned onlooker said.

However, Azharuddin's return to the slums was another picture altogether when his father had lifted him up and paraded him like a trophy.

Just a few hours after the attack, TB patient Ismail apologised for the attack, saying: "I was very sorry I did what I did. I was confused and stressed by my son's homecoming and I did not know myself for a minute. I love my boy and I am very happy to have him home."

"Slumdog Millionaire" Child Stars walked the ramp shows creations by designer duo Ashima and Leena Singh at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in New Delhi.

UPDATE 19 APR 2009

“Slumdog Millionaire” child star Rubina Ali’s father plans to get rid of poverty and become a millionaire by selling his nine-year-old daughter, a British news website reported after conducting a sting operation. reports that in a bid to escape slum life, Rafiq Qureshi has put Rubina up for adoption, demanding 200,000 pounds.

Rafiq offered the shocking deal to the News of the World’s undercover reporters posing as a wealthy family from Dubai. He told the fake sheikh this week: “I have to consider what’s best for me, my family and Rubina’s future.”

Rafiq tried to blame Hollywood bosses for forcing him to put his daughter up for sale. As he tried to fix the illegal adoption deal, Rafiq declared: “We’ve got nothing out of this film.”

Then, almost embarrassed to speak it out loud, he whispered to an accomplice the price tag he has put on his daughter: “It’s 200,000 pounds”, he was quoted as saying by the website.

That was an astonishing four-fold increase on his opening demand. But Rafiq’s equally demanding brother Mohiuddin insisted: “The child is special now. This is not an ordinary child. This is an Oscar child!”

Rafiq, who stays in the Bandra slum sprawl of Mumbai, is reportedly desperate to cash in on his daughter’s success in the multiple-Oscar winning film by selling her to the highest bidder.

New meaning to layoffs

With the flagging economy, no one's job is secure, not even for a mistress.
A married Chinese businessman who could no longer afford five mistresses held a competition to decide which one to keep. The businessman and his spurned mistress met in Qingdao, local media report. But the contest took a fatal turn when one of the women, eliminated for her looks, drove the man and the four other competitors off a cliff, Chinese media reported.

The spurned mistress died and the other passengers were injured, the reports said.
Police initially thought the car had plummeted off a mountain road in eastern China on December 6 by accident. Then they learned of the contest through a letter the dead woman had left behind, the Shanghai Daily newspaper said.

The 29-year-old woman from rural Shanxi, identified only as Yu, was a waitress when she met the businessman at a restaurant in the coastal city of Qingdao in 2000.
At the time, the businessman, identified only by his last name -- Fan -- was married and had four other mistresses, according to the Peninsula Metropolis Daily newspaper in Qingdao.
The women knew of one another, but none elected to break up with the man and give up their rent-free apartment and a 5,000 yuan ($730) monthly allowance, the reports said. When the economy soured, the businessman apparently decided to let go of all but one mistress.

He staged a private talent show in May, without telling the women his intentions. An instructor from a local modeling agency judged the women on the way they looked, how they sang and how much alcohol they could hold, the Shanghai Daily said.
The judge knocked out Yu in the first round of the competition based on her looks. Angry, she decided to exact revenge by telling her lover and the four other women to accompany her on a sightseeing trip before she returned to her home province, the media reports said.
It was during the trip that Yu reportedly drove the car off the cliff.
Fan shut down his company after the crash and paid Yu's parents 580,000 yuan ($84,744) as compensation for her death.

The four other women left him, as did his wife when she learned of the affairs.

Most readers of the story find it hard to sympathize with Fan or the mistresses, especially when millions are having trouble making an honest living. But the tragedy is not entirely of their own making. Wealth has become the main criterion for success and happiness in this society, yet it's not easy for ordinary people to work towards an affluent life. Hundreds of thousands of college graduates are left unemployed every year and even less help is available to those with little education. If there were other options for women like Yu to make a decent living perhaps the tragedy could have been avoided.

The highest paid players in Football

1. Ricardo Kaka AC Milan—750.000 €

Futebol Finance, a Portuguese website specialising in football economy, published the list of the highest paid players in Football.
Golden boot Kaka is number one on the list, followed by Ronaldinho and Frank Lampard.

2. Ronaldinho Gaucho FC Barcelone—710.000 €
3. Frank Lampard Chelsea FC—680.000 €

The EPL is the most represented League with 20 players. One surprising thing—some of these players are not from the four big dogs. Michael Owen from Newcastle Utd ranks 14th, Portsmouth's defender Sol Campbell is 15th, and Darren Bent from Tottenham comes in 19th place.

Real Madrid and Barcelona both have six players in the rank, confirming their financial power.
Italy is also well represented, Inter and Juventus have three players in the rank, Roma with Totti and Cassano for Sampdoria are also there. French League only has four players, O.M's Cissé being the highest paid player in France.

Without any surprise, David Beckham is the only non-European based player, but he only comes in 44th position. This is because the list doesnt add the sponsorship contracts—it only accounts for the salary clubs give to players per month.

80 million pounds for Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to leave Manchester United after the Premier League club gave Real Madrid permission to speak to the winger after receiving a world record bid of 80 million pounds ($131.7 million). "Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of 80 million pounds for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid," the club said.
After warding off the Spanish club's interest in the Portuguese World Player of the Year this time last year, United said in a statement on Thursday that talks could begin over a possible transfer to the nine-times European champions.

"Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of 80 million pounds for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid," the club said.
Ronaldo joined United from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 as an 18-year-old in the wake of David Beckham's move to Real Madrid and quickly established himself as arguably the most high-profile player in the Premier League.
His goals have helped United win three consecutive Premier League titles as well as the Champions League last year when he scored in the final against Chelsea.

In the 2007-08 season he scored 42 goals which topped the previous club record for a midfielder held by George Best. Last season he managed 26 goals, taking his tally for United to 118 in 292 appearances.

India fizzy drink made from cow urine

An Indian nationalist movement has created a fizzy drink made from cow urine.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Cow Protection Department has announced that development has almost finished on the beverage, which is called "gau jal", meaning "cow water".
Department head Om Prakash said that the drink is undergoing final laboratory tests and should be on the market by the end of the year.

"Don't worry, it won't smell like urine and will be tasty too," he told The Times.
"Its [ultimate selling point] will be that it's going to be very healthy. It won't be like carbonated drinks and would be devoid of any toxins."

The movement is hoping that the drink will help promote Hindu ideology, which includes revering cows as objects of worship.
Discussing other drink manufacturers, Prakash said: "We're going to give them good competition as our drink is good for mankind. We may also think of exporting it."

What is cow urine?

Cow urine is cow's blood that is filtered by kidney. Kidneys filter blood. Whatever elements are present in blood are present in cow urine also.

Even after drinking cow's urine for decades, the people hasn't seen any major health ill-effects that can be traced to cow's urine.

Brazil to hand out 59 million condoms during carnival

Brazil is to distribute 59 million free condoms during its famous Carnival later this month to combat the spread of AIDS, Health Minister Jose Temporao said Friday.

The number of prophylactics—enough for one Brazilian resident in three, or almost for the entire population of Britain—is a jump over the 49 million free condoms handed out every month in the tropical South American nation.

The sheaths are to be handed out during the extravagant parades featuring bare-breasted models and stirring drums, and in the innumerable street parties that will take place across the country between February 19 and 25.

Brazil is the biggest state buyer of condoms in the world. Temporao said his government was buying “1.2 billion condoms on the international market.”

In a dig at churches, including the Catholic Church which preaches sexual abstinence over condom use, Temporao said: “The churches pray. And we are working to reduce the number of cases of illness.”

He said the number of HIV/AIDS cases in Brazil has stayed stable over the past eight years, and the survival rate of HIV-positive patients had doubled over the past 12 years.

The country provides prevention campaigns and free retroviral treatment to the 630,000 people infected with the virus.

Carnival starts on Friday and ends on Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is the fortieth day before Easter. A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has become a father in Britain.

The front page of The Sun shows a picture of a baby-faced boy holding the hand of a newborn girl. Britain has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in Europe and Friday's report sparked a debate over the issue. The most recent government figures show that about 39,000 girls under age 18 became pregnant in 2006. More than 7,000 of those girls were younger than 16.

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has become a father in Britain. The mum is just 15.

Alfie Patten was present four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to Maisie Roxanne in Eastbourne Hospital, East Sussex, The Sun reports.

“I thought it would be good to have a baby," Alfie told the major UK paper.

“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10 ($21).”

Alfie, who lives with with his mum, admitted he did not know how much nappies cost: “I think it’s a lot.”

Alfie, who was 12 when Maisie was conceived, and Chantelle decided not to have an abortion and had kwpt the pregnancy secret until at 18 weeks Chantelle's mum noticed the weight gain.

“When my mum found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble," Alfie said.

"We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react

“I didn’t know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it.”
Alfie’s father Dennis, who is separated from the family, said his son did not seem to appreciate what he had got himself into but at least he had taken responsible attitude.
Alfie had been present at the birth and has been keen to cuddle and hold his child.

"He could have shrugged his shoulders and sat at home on his Playstation.

"But he has been at the hospital every day,” Mr Patten said.

Chantelle defends herself and Alfie from accusations they are being irresponsible.

“We know we made a mistake but I wouldn’t change it now," Chantelle says.

"We will be good loving parents.

“I have started a church course and I am going to do work experience helping other young mums.

“I’ll be a great mum and Alfie will be a great dad.”

Chantelle and Maisie were released from hospital yesterday and will be living with her family who are supported by welfare payments.

Take a look at the interview that Alfie Patten gave for The Sun in the video: British Boy Becomes Father Aged 13.

DNA tests show boy-dad Alfie Patten is not the daddy

The schoolboy alleged to have become a dad aged 12 is not the baby’s father. Alfie Patten, now 13, had a £300 DNA test after half a dozen boys claimed to have slept with schoolgirl pal Chantelle Stedman, 15.It proved the 4ft-tall pupil was not the father of her seven-week-old girl Maisie Roxanne. The result will be a blow to Alfie who was “devastated” by the boys’ claims and “adored” Maisie. He was convinced he was the dad after a single night of unprotected sex with Chantelle.
